About Us

Overview

Ampenyi is a small fishing village near Elmina in the Central Region of Ghana with a population of 1780 people, 771 children.

The community has a Chief whose name is Nana Takyi Akyen and other presiding cabinets who are responsible for the development and welfare of every living being in Ampenyi.

However most inhabitants, because of the nature of the work they do, find it difficult to make sure that their children are well educated. For instance parents sometimes take their children out of school to go fishing with them. Some also lose interest in education due to the parents refusal to purchase school learning materials. Others are orphans who have no one to take care of them.

Therefore the primary mission of Be The Change Global Project is to cater for the needs of these children, especially in terms of education and health. Other concerns of Be The Change Foundation include women and girl child empowerment, environmental conservation and sanitation.
